A Summer Program to Remember Montessori Kids Wimbledon Day Nursery

Wimbledon Day Nursery is committed to providing the highest level of care and education to each and every child who walks through its doors. They have created a home away from home experience for your pride and joy with a highly qualified team of staff and a management team who collectively have over twenty years of childcare knowledge. They believe in collaborating closely with all families, providing ongoing support, and encouraging ongoing involvement in your child's nursery life. They understand that putting your child in the nursery can be difficult for parents, which is why we hope Wimbledon Day Nursery will be the ideal setting for you and your child to feel completely safe and at home.

Wimbledon Day Nursery strives to create a happy community where learning is encouraged and fun. Children, parents, and staff all learn together and grow to their full potential. We believe that children learn best when they use all of their senses, as well as through their own activity and firsthand experiences. The learning environment is carefully planned so that children gain independence and take on more responsibility for themselves both inside and outside the classroom.

Each child is an individual with unique needs that should be met in an environment that values diversity. Children require acceptance and approval in order to develop a positive self-concept and increase their confidence and self-esteem.

Aims

·         To establish a secure, safe, and stimulating environment

·         To encourage children's confidence and self-esteem growth

·         To foster an environment in which children can express their preferences, make decisions, and gain independence.

·         Plan activities to ensure that each individual achieves their full potential across the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum.

·         To encourage children to cooperate and respect one another; to support and value parents' and educators' roles as educators; and

·         To promote a brighter future for all of us by maximizing the potential of the entire nursery community, including children, parents, and staff.

What is the Early Childhood Curriculum?

The Early Years Foundation Stage is a curriculum that begins at birth and serves as a framework for your child's development throughout their first year of school. Rather than being a structured curriculum, the EYFS provides guidance on your child's developmental stages and allows staff to follow your child's own developmental journey, offering learning experiences through fun, playful activities that allow your child to explore their own ideas and understanding.

The prime areas are the skills that your child innately possesses to interact with the world around them and that must be nurtured from birth in order for them to flourish. They are as follows:

·         Personal, social, and emotional growth

·         Language and Communication Development

·         Physical Improvement

Specific areas are skills that your child will learn to help them understand and contribute to the world around them. As your child gains confidence in the primary areas of development, his or her interest and abilities in the specific areas grow, providing your child with a more balanced view of the world. They are as follows:

·         Literacy

·         Exploring the World

·         Expressive Arts and Design

What is Play and why is it important to learning?

A practitioner's best and most effective way of promoting learning is through child play. They achieve their highest level of understanding and thinking through their free exploration of ideas. A skilled practitioner will plan and deliver play opportunities that promote the skills needed in each area of development based on each child's own interests and ideas.
